Primary School Sport Premium
This academic year, every primary school in the country received an additional £9, 275 of government funding in order to enhance the delivery of sport at primary school level and to promote healthy lifestyles to young people.
At Belvoirdale, PE and promoting a healthy way of life is an integral part of the curriculum, so the funding received has been spent on the following:
This offers staff training, health and well-being programmes to children, specialist sports coaches and access to borough and inter-school competitions and festivals.
The impact upon the staff and children at Belvoirdale Primary School has been immense. Children learn to appreciate the need to eat properly and look after their physical and mental well-being through specialist interactive activities. They take part in competitions that promote teamwork and sportsmanship and share these experiences with other children across North West Leicestershire.
Those children who are in receipt of Pupil Premium are offered free access to a wide range of after school opportunities including, athletics, football, Dance and Zumba.
Staff and practitioners at Belvoirdale have access to a support network of professional coaches who offer development opportunities which improve their practice. Training lessons and staff INSET encourage cross-curricular links and support the promotion of a healthy lifestyle across the key stages.
At Belvoirdale Primary School we aim to establish a sporting culture that enables and encourages all children to play and enjoy sport. We have established a number of after-school clubs for our pupils offering a wide variety of sporting opportunities for our children. We enter numerous school sport competitions to allow children to be competitive and are constantly developing our PE programme.
